It depends greatly on how it was maintained and driven, whether the miles were 'city' or 'highway', and how much they are asking for the vehicle.

I would highly suggest taking it to a mechanic and having them give it a once over (usually about $75 - but call around and get quotes).

It's not a guarantee nothing will go wrong, but they might be able to catch any big $$$ items that might steer you away from purchasing it (or give you ammunition when negotiating the price).

Sure, it's only half way done if it has been fully and properly serviced and maintained throughout it's life. If the seller can show you proof of all service and maintenance receipts you have a potential winner.

Sure… Depending on price.

That depends on the condition of the vehicle and what the price is.

That, s average mileage. If the timing (serpentine)belt and balance shaft belt has been changed at least twice during the life of the car, then it should be fine.

I would stay away from 2003 and 2004 Honda Accords. They have weak transmissions those 2 years. Get a 2005 and up.

  • Which to get 2004 buick regal ls with 121000 miles or 2004 Hyundai sonata lx v6 with 130000 miles? I'm asking for advice from ppl who have own these 2 cars. I needed a car thats going to last a long time and need to be on budget and please don't tell me go to Honda or Toyota or Nissan. I'm interested in one of these cars.
  • Is it worth it to trade a 2003 Toyota Corolla almost 130k miles for a 2004+ Acura TL 90k-110k miles? This is my moms old car and she got the Honda Pilot, she gave it her old car to me as my first car, but I want to trade it for a nicer car but used Acura are expensive and every time I asked the sellers to trade my Corolla and says no. Do you think Acura owners don't like Toyota?
  • Is it worth buying an older car with original miles? I'm looking at this 98 Honda Prelude Sh that has 20k original miles. They're asking 14 grand for this car which normally would turn me away. But I see similar preludes around my area that sell for about 5-6 grand with "reasonable" miles. (140k-170k). Now I'm having second thoughts, any suggestions? No doubt I'm in love with this prelude, but 14 grand is gut wrenching.
  • Is it worth buying a used Chevy Volt with over 100K miles on it? The price is right, but is it worth it? I know I would have to install a power charging station which is an additional 1000 dollars. There's one for sale at 14,500 dollars… But most used Volts are around 23,000 dollars. My other two considerations are a new 2015 Honda Fit or a used Mark 6 VW Golf TDI I've seen people on youtube who average 120 mpg with the volt! One guy's was even 1000 mpg, I don't think he even brought it to the gas station since he bought the car!
