My honda accord 91 over heating?
Well i just change my water pump. My fan motor. Replace the thermostat. Took off the radiator and flush it. And it stills over heating. I just don't know what else can i door what else its wrong with it
You did not mention whether the radiator's electric fan is coming on or not? The fan's thermo-switch (which is a different thing to the engine's thermostat) controls the fan coming on and going off. The fan should kick in and come on about 95 degrees Celsius i.e. Before the red very Hot zone of your temperature gauge is reached. Also if the engine's fuel mixture is too weak (too lean) with too little fuel to air ratio the engine will run much hotter. New engine oil helps. Also check there are no obstructions to the air flow to and through the radiator fins, dead flies and bent fins reduce the cooling ability. Start with the cooling fan coming on early enough just above normal temperature and before entering the red very zone of the temperature gauge. Also check the radiator cap spring is opening to let coolant expand into the expansion tank. If old coolant gelled-up when low and if car sat up another flush out may be needed. Check that coolant is flowing around the rad and system i.e. Does the radiator get warm then hot and does that rad fan kick in and come on?
I was gonna ask you is there any chance that the water pump i put on my car its not working propertly?
So you've replaced the engine thermostat, the water pump, the cooling fan motor and flushing out the radiator and the car is still overheat.
Does the cooling fan come on when you turn the AC on? Have you check all of the related fuses, relay and the cooling fan timer control unit?
The system has fuses, two thermal switches to control the cooling fan, relay, timer etc. It could be anything from the radiator cap to a defected head gasket. Have you checked anything before the parts replacement took place?
How hot was it? Does it overheat at idle only or when you're driving? Does it overheat in stop and go traffic or only on the freeways? If the coolant boiled over, be careful: It could be the head gasket or cracked cylinder head. Your description is poor so update the information.
Including is a wiring diagram for the cooling fan circuit just in case you have to go deep into checking the system. Start by checking the fuses and the fan relay then onto the fan timer control unit as I've replaced a lot of them in the past three decades or so, or it could be something as simple as air in the cooling system.

We need to know when it is overheating. Does it only heat up when stopped and cools down quickly when moving again? Does it get hot and just refuse to cool off?
The most common cause of overheating in the cars I see is a blocked radiator, the result of using tap water to dilute antifreeze in coolant changes. The resulting hard water deposits are actually limestone and can't be removed by any flush; they can be rodded out or, for a bit more money, the radiator must be replaced. A flow test will tell you if this is your problem. Remove the hoses from the radiator, put a garden hose in the upper fitting, and turn on the water all the way. A good radiator will pass it all easily. A blocked one will spill a lot of it out the upper fitting. The last blocked radiator I replaced was so restricted I could barely blow air through it.
After coolant is drained and refilled it must be purged, too. There's a nipple on the housing where the upper hose attaches to the engine. With the engine cool, open the nipple 1/2 turn with a 12 mm socket and close it when a steady stream of coolant comes out.
- Why my bike is heating very quickly? I'm using hero honda passion pro, i have changed engine oil on feb, it was over heating very quickly i had traveld only 1000km after oil change… And oil is turned black, what is the problem…
- My car 2005 honda civic keeps over heating? My car keeps over heatting if changed the radiator and thermis stat and the fan switch senser and still over heatting my fans come on for about 5 secs then shut off but I can turn my a/c on and both fans will come on
- Heating/AC Not Working '97 Civic? About a month ago I installed a new radio in to my '97 Honda Civic. Right after the install, both me heating and AC stopped working. The only thing that I'm able to do is adjust the level of air coming out. Any help would be very much appreciated. Ps. I'm not a car guy, so I know very little.
- 92 Honda Civic ex over heating? So I had a coolant hose break and replaced the hose and when driving normal I.e 25-3mph is stays at a normal temperature but the moment I go up and hill and put it under stress temperature goes up high. Any ideas?
