My steering wheel feel stiff when turning or driving straight?
I hit a curb this morning alignment was off, got that fixed but steering wheel feels stiff and doesn't move back into place anymore.
Doesn't feel the same.

Check tie rod ends and boots, wishbone mounts, just generally for any cracks or splits, leaks etc. Check PAS fluid, could be steering rack. Uhm, drop links, check the rubber boots too. Just the steering/suspension components behind the wheel. That's everything I could think of at the moment. Hope you manage to get it sorted!
Hi, not sure about the 2013 accord but most older ones used electronic power steering instead of hydraulic power steering. On those ones it was possible to adjust how much steering assistance you got using a knob called EPS. - would give you very light steering, - would give you average steering assist and + would give you less assist, meaning it was harder to turn the wheel. The mechanic at the alignment shop may have turned it from -to+ accidentally so that might be your problem. If you do have hydro assist then I would check for leaks and fluid level in the power steering reservoir.
- Does power steering fluid get hot if the car is just running and the steering isn't being used? If the pump is just spinning, recirculating fluid and nothing else… Would it still get hot? I had to bypass the pump from the rack and have the fluid recirculate. Would the pump get hot from just spinning? I know 8th gen Honda's don't have a cooler for the power steering anyways.
- Would you trade a 2014 car for a 2007 car straight up? I own a 2014 Honda Civic but it's too cramped and too underpowered for me. I want to trade it for a larger car with more room a 2007 Honda Element instead. Both have around 100,000 miles. After taxes and DMV fees, the Element would cost about the same as what I would get on the Civic. So do you think this is a fair trade?
- Where to buy STOCK steering wheel? I need to buy a brand new steering wheel for a honda civic ex 2000. It needs to be stock, not an aftermarket racing type. The reason i need a new one is cause there's an aftermarket one on right now but its not set up right, and I rather have a brand new one because when I resale the car, it will look much better and it is appealing for everybody. So is there a certain site? Or do i go to the Honda dealer?
- Steering wheel jerks when turning? I have a '95 Honda Civic LX that runs great except for when I turm the steering wheel. It jerks really hard and the tires snatch but then it goes back to normal. What could be wrong with it?
