Should I put sandbags in the trunk of my FWD Honda Accord 2000? - 1

Put as many as can fit.

Yes many

Why would you think that would help? The weight needs to go over the drive tires. The entire drive train is already there. By drive train, I mean the engine and transmission. Do not put sandbags in the trunk. Put some tire chains in there and something to lay on while you put the chains on. Yes you'll need chains because that car doesn't have any traction control and does relatively terrible in snow and ice.

What for?

  • Sandbags in car for winter? Wondering if it is necessary or more dangerous to place a sandbag in my trunk for the winter time? I have a front wheel drive honda civic.
  • Will I get four large suitcases in the boot (trunk) of a Honda Accord? I'm going on holiday with friends, and renting a Honda Accord. Will we get four suitcases in the boot (trunk), suitcases are 86 litres each, (70cm x 44cm x 28cm). I know the boot is 497 litres but how much of that is useable?
  • My 2005 honda accord hybrid trunk does not open? My trunk of my 2005 Honda Accord Hybrid does not open. I tried the key, and the latch inside. It does not work. But I still hear the noise as if it would open. I tried having someone pull it open while I pulled the latch, that didn't work, did the same with the key. There's no way I can get in through the back seat to get to an " emergency latch". How can I get my trunk open?
  • How to get into my Honda Accord trunk? I bought a 98 Honda Accord used. I didn't realize until after I bought it that the one key I have for it doesn't open the trunk from the inside (if you're in the back seat there's a key hole to "unlock" it so you can fold down the backseat). Is there a way to somehow be able to unlock it without getting a new key made? I'm sure I can drill it out, but then I'd be worried about the seat folding down at random.
