Speedometer problem 2001 Honda Accord?

When my battery died on me, all of my dash lights flipped out and the speedometer needle flipped around. So the needle was under the pin but when I was driving it would move up but stop at the pin. So I removed the dash and plastic plate thing and moved the needle over the pin, and it wouldn't move at all. Then I flipped it all the way around like when it flipped when the battery died, still nothing.

Question: What can I do now to fix it? It worked before and now it won't move at all. I really don't want to pay someone to do it when it seems like an easy fix

Why what?

Was the speedometer the only problem? How about the tachometer? Is the cruise control still working?
The problem was causing by what called "Power surging" as I've seen in the past. When the vehicle is jump start or the car used to jump start another vehicle or having alternator/ charging problem etc.
What you'll need to do is check all 3 related fuses for the dash cluster. There are two fuse boxes locates at each end of the dash/ or under dash ends.
Driver side fuse box: Fuse # 6 (15A), fuse # 9 (7.5A)
Passenger side fuse box: Fuse # 13 (7.5A)
I can't see clearly when you said: "… And moved the needle over the pin,". The only right way to do is after replace the blown fuse, if any is very gently lift the needle of the gauge and re-install it back at Zero MPH position. Then test drive it and at the same time see if the cruise control is working.
If the speedometer needle still not moving and the cruise control is working, then the problem is the speedometer head unit. Either send the cluster out for repair or replace it.
If the cruise control is not working then check fuse # 47 (20A) in the under hood fuse/relay box. If all of the fuses I've told you to check are good now then the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) could be the cause.
Normally when the VSS is defected, the check engine light will lit and store code P0500. If the VSS need replacement, make sure you buy the correct VSS as Manual transmission requires a differ one than Auto trans. These two links will show you how to test and replace the VSS: http://techauto.awardspace.com/vss.html https://www.ifixit.com/...98-2002+H…
If the VSS is good and the cruise control is working, then send the speedometer or the complete cluster to this site for repair. It'll be cheaper compare with a replacement> I don't know where you at, guessing California: http://www.speedometer.org/
I've included a wiring diagram just in case you need one: Since you've not specified the trim, I use the trim EX 2.3L engine for the wiring diagram:
Edit: YA has some problem receiving my upload diagram. I've tried three times. If you need it: Give me your E mail address. I'll send the whole Manual to you (ETM)Speedometer problem 2001 Honda Accord - 1

I've been having a problem with my speedometer where it was working fine and then it just went dead as in it doesn't move from zero and the odometer doesn't work and I've checked all the fuses and all are good.
