What causes sound from the tires?

Driven 42000 kms
Changed tires a year back and drove maybe 15000 kms
I did wheel balancing and alignment as well
There's sound from the tires
It increases as the speed is increased
It is not the bearings.
Any clues?
Some tires get significantly louder as the tread wears, some don't. If the tread is worn 1/2 or more down compared to a new tire, it could be noisey. Rotate the front tires to the rear and see if the noise changes.
Another possible is a wheel bearing going bad on you. At 150K miles worn wheel bearings are very possible.
Aggressive tread is noisier. Take your hand and slide it over the tread on the inside edge. If it is feathered then there's your noise. You may want to rotate tires more and the alignment is off or never on.
More than likely it is the quality and design of the tires which are creating the noise. Lesser quality tires tend to be much noisier than top quality tires, as are tires which have an aggressive trend pattern.
