Honda sold me a car without having a title?
I didn't find out till I tried to renew my registration a year later. The DMV told me the registration I had was canceled and invalid the car has yet to be transferred into my name.
Took it up with Honda and they admitted they have yet to get it and that they wanted to put Honda plates on my car so I won't get pulled over. I refused and at the end I purchased a diff car and they took back the car as a full trade in.
I then sent them a demand letter requesting my initial down payment and the interest I paid for the whole year for the car.
Today, they called me in and said they spoke to there attorneys and said they will pay me back my down payment but not the interest. Basically the guy told me he doesn't feel he should since I used the car for a year and it helped my credit and that the interest wouldn't hold up in court.
My questions is if I do take him to court do you think I will have a chance or take his offeer?
Going to court with an attorney may cost you much more than any money you might receive if you win, which you likely won't -- and you still have to pay the lawyer unless you can get him on a contingency basis. However, there's probably not enough money involved for them to even be interested. You could go to Small Claims Court on your own but your chances of winning against corporate lawyers is pretty slim.
Suing them's a win-win:
even if you lose, what you'l likely learn in the small claims process & researching will likely save you $1000s in the future.
I harassed honda for 6 wks to get them to pay me for ruining my new accord w/ a botched paint and body job they did after it got hit.
they totally denied me at first, but finally I walked out w/ their check of $10,000.
but i had their loaner-car to hold hostage.
not bad for 6 wks work, and i dint have to sue, i just knew how to use threats like court to loosen them up.
How much is the interest? Honda dropped the ball and were kind enough to work with you. Some dealers will not be so kind. Don't be too greedy and move on.
- What if my salvaged title car is stolen? I bought my car back after an accident, so it has a salvaged title. It is a Honda. It runs and drives great and has for a few years since the accident. Someone tried to break in to it the other night which brings my question. What if someone did steal it? I don't have full coverage because I can't, but I love my car! How can I protect my assest?
- Why are their more Honda motorcycles sold than Kawasaki's & Yamaha? When the zx9r came out their were still more fireblades sold even though the zx9r was faster? And it was the same thing with the yamaha R1. Even now Kawasaki's and/or Yamaha still seem to have a little bit more horse power so why would people buy Hondas over Yamaha and Kawasaki? it Can't BE because they are cheaper because harley davidjsons sell more and are more expensive which is fact
- How to title a motorbike that has no title or bill of sale? I have a Honda CT70 that was purchased at an auction many years ago. I do not have a bill of sale and the bike was never titled because it was never street legal. I would like to restore it and get it titled to ride around town. Any help is appreciated. And I live in Wisconsin as well.
- Help sold my car and not sure if safe? Sold my 1997 Honda to a man today for $$$. Problem is I just read on Virginias dmv site that I have to do a title transfer? Not sure if this is necessary or not. I got the bill of sale and made him sign the title. I have his address and number. I got my tags also. I have informed DMV of sale and insurance. Am I responsible if he never registers vehicle if he gets in accident?
