How many pedals are in a normal car? - 1
Added (1). When I search up "pedals in a car" it shows me 3 pedals, The Clutch, The brake, then Gas. What about the accelorator? I'm really confused on what a noral car has for pedals. When I say"Normal Car" I mean those cars you see everyday.(Jeep, Honda, Nissan, Ect.)Please help! My mom said that there's only 2 pedals in a car.Im really confused. Please Help? Thank you IN ADVANCE!
Added (2). Are automatic cars with 2 pedals, Are the cars that have a remote to open the car? Vise versa but with 3 pedals.
Define normal. Automatic transmission cars have a brake and a gas pedal. Manual transmission cars have an extra pedal for the clutch.
2 for Automatic, 3 for Manual.
Brake, Accelerator, Clutch
Manual you have a clutch, brake, accelerator some have a emergency brake pedal. A automatic transmission you have brake, accelerator and in some cases a emergency brake pedal.
2
1 break
1 gas
Most of the cars on the road are automatics. So I would say 2 pedals Brake and accelerator. Like other people said. Manuals have 3. Both are normal cars, but automatics are just more common.
Pre 2000 normal was 3 on left hand cars they were left to right the clutch the brake the gas aka the accelerator. About then "most" cars became automatics so no clutch pedal needed the since 2010 a new wrinkle was added aka the manumatic dual clutch transmission shifts like a clutch aka stick but only has 2 pedals brake and gas. And worse yet for the future one of the german cars were testing one with no pedals or steering wheel it used a push button automatic ( basically park forward and reverse) and a joystick push forward to go pull back to stop Cool thing about that to change drivers you just popped the joy stick out and put in on the other side. No left or right hand drive same car sold everywhere Also clutch cars have remote for them to but most will not start that vehicle some do but there's a special way for them to be parked so that it will work but basic remotes open lock windows etc no matter how many pedals
Three for a manual transmission, two for automatic. "Gas" and "accelerator" are the same thing. This is for cars of course. Pickups have a parking brake pedal.
2 pedals are normal for the cars with automatic transmission and 3 pedals are normal for cars with manual.
Two or three. I'll explain.
In a car, the engine spins a shaft. That shaft is connected to the wheels through something called the transmission. The transmission has to shift into different gears to keep everything working properly. Most cars made today have an automatic transmission. The car shifts gears for you. These have two pedals. One is the brake. The other is the accelerator, which is also called the gas pedal (two names for the same thing).
In some cars, the driver has to shift the gears. This is called a manual transmission. To shift gears, you need a clutch. The clutch is controlled by a third pedal called a clutch pedal.
For a very old normal car, 5, starter, gas, brake, clutch, dimmer switch.
- Is it normal for someone to still drive a 20-year-old car? I still see dozens of 20-year-old Hondas and Toyotas every day. Is it a Japanese car thing to last that long or is it normal? I want to get a 20-year-old car soon.
- Is it normal for my car mileage to increase rapidly? I just got this Honda cr v 2014 three weeks ago. I drive it back and froth from work. So weekly I do 20 miles. On the first day I got it is was 18 miles. Now it is at 1100. I have already been to Honda twice. They say it is no problem. Can someone assure me this is normal… Or is there something wrong with the car.
- Why does my car temperature rise when I idle but when i drive it, it's goes back to normal? So I started noticing this problem 2 days ago. I thought I fixed it by refilling the coolant. It was working fine till today again. When I stop on a cross street or I idle, the temperature slowly rises up to the "H" but once I accelerate or move the car, it slowly goes back to normal. My A.c works perfectly either way. What could be the problem? How much would it cost? It's a 2005 Honda civic ex.
- Why does my car get unusually good gas mileage than normal? It's a 98 Honda Civic. I do 2 hours of Combined city and highway driving for 5-6 days a week. I kinda have a heavy foot, the rims are 1" bigger than stock and the car is due for it's next tune up this coming Monday. The car is rated at 28mpg combined when it was shiny back in 1998, and when I calculated mine i got 32 mpg combined, my calculation isn't wrong either as i have an mpg calculator
