Can I ride a Honda CRF250R?

I've had my heart set on a Honda CRF250R. I have no past experiences with dirt bikes, this would be my first one. I went to a Honda Dealer and the bike looked a lot bigger in person but when I got on it i wasn't flat footed on both sides but I was on my tippy toes. I could hold up the bike and a employee said it wouldn't be crazy for me to start with this bike. I'm currently 15 5'6 and about 120 Pounds. When I sat on it kind of felt intimidating because of the size but also thought that I would get used to it soon.

Yeah I think you could learn on a crf250r. It isn't all that powerful or crazy if you have a good mentor to help you learn. I learned how to ride a Yamaha ttr230 when I was 15 and I was 5'8 and 100 lbs. It was really nice for a beginner bike. Tippy toe on a motorcycle is usually good since you don't want a bike thats too short. The bike is pretty easy to get used to as well once you learn the mechanics, shifting, clutch and such.

I wouldnt recommend starting on that bike. I have had several diffrent bikes over the past years and track bikes haul ***. They are way overpowered for more experinced riders and have a very inconsistant powerband making it hard to learn. Plus all honda bikes are pigs. Try laying it down on its side and picking it up. That is where the real test is. But I would look into a TTR250 or even the 125L/LE. They are more refined track bikes making it easyer to learn but still have enough power to do stupid things with.

You can probably ride it. I'm 16 5'6 and 140 pounds and I ride a yz250 2 stroke. I've had multiple bikes before so I have experience but it will be a little scary being on a 250r for your first bike but you can do it.
