All motorized vehicles sold in the US have to be made to burn unleaded gas. It's been that way since 1973. Unleaded is regular

87 octane is fine Any grade of gas.
The manual suggests unleaded.
The reason being, is it burns cleaner and doesn't pollute the atmosphere, or leave behind carbon deposits which in time will decrease engine performance unless the engine is disassembled. Unleaded. Unleaded is fine… But. Those older Japanese bikes gas tanks, fuel lines and rubber carb parts do not like ethanol laced gas. The like to rust and dry out. Honda even states in their owners manual anything over 10% voids the warranty. The tank can be cleaned & coated with kits available on Amazon & the motorcycle stores. Newer material carb gaskets & fuel line kits are also available. Then always run some ethanol fuel treatment in the tank and you will be good to go. The only other thing with old bikes and new fuels is the mixture. Newer mixes seem to run lean and fatter carb jets make it much better and run cooler. But that is best left to Honda carb experts to advise you on. There's no more regular gas, at least in the US. So it uses unleaded gas whether it was designed for it or not. 1975 model year was the last year for cars that used leaded gas.
