How much motoroil to put in a 1984 honda nighthawk motorcycle? - 1

Always give year, make and model #
Nighthawks come in different engine sizes.

Near the dipstick are some numbers stamped into the engine case.
If the numbers are followed by "CCM" - that means
Cubic Centimeters, or CCs

A good rule of thumb for most bikes is approx 1qt per cylinder.
The oil level must be checked and adjusted as per the manufacture's procedure.

I don't remember, and it's not going to be exactly the same for the 250, 450, 650, 700.
Usually I bought four quarts (I had a 1986 450). After draining and putting the plug back in, I think I would pour in about two and a half quarts and then start measuring with the dip stick.
Yeah, dip stick.

Buy the Clymer manual.

Ask your MOM. If you don't have one, you need to get one. You should have a MOM for every bike you own. Nevertheless, start with what the MOM states and then measure with the dipstick. I put 2 3/4 qt in my 1985 Honda Magna VF700c, and it turned out that 2 3/4 was for the 750 cc version. BTW: 1 qt per cylinder is asinine. According to that, my bike would take a gallon of oil. The Nighthawks didn't hit four cylinders until the 550. Anything with less cc's than that was a parallel twin.

EMENT 5. SHOW THAT THE CHARACTERISTIC EQUATION FOR THE CO

You should have a dip stick, or you can drain the oil and put the same amount in, if you get 4 liters you should have enough

2.5 qts.

  • Transmission on 1984 Honda Shadow 700? Alright I just bought the bike about a week ago, for my first bike. Now when I'm riding and shifting from 1st to 2nd the bike sometimes goes into neutral. Is this a problem i will have to address with the bike or is this just a beginner mistake? The engine runs great, I want to keep it that way

  • How many digits in my 1984 honda magna vin #? I went to get mike bike registered and the dmv tells me my vin# is wrong. Here is my dilemma: There are 14 obvious digits in the vin and before it there are 3 lower case letters. I brought them all 17 digits because i thought i had to have 17. Is it possible i only need 14 digits for this bike?
