What to look for in second hand motorbikes (125cc Honda cbf 125 to be more specific)?
Basically i have just done my cbt and i'm looking for a used 125cc motorbike. I have no knowledge on motorbikes so when it comes to buying one from sellers i have no idea what to look for, and i will be pretty annoyed if i buy a faulty bike. My question is what should i look for when buying a bike from someone. I don't know anyone who knows about bikes bring along. I was looking for a Honda cbf 125 no older than three years old. Added (1). i saw a 2012 cbf 125 for £1700 from a dealership but with 16000 miles, is this a good deal?
Difficulty starting, poor idle, oil leaks, evidence of crash or drop.
All electrical functions, high beam, signals, brake, horn.
Tires, tread and sidewall cracking, brake rotors ( scoring ) , pads, excessive wear.
signs of tinkering, do it yourself repairs, rust or oxidization.
Motorcycles like cars can have many unseen problems, so either buy from a good friend or a dealer who will give you some kind of guarantee.
- Prius: Can someone explain the power usage meter & specific difference between power mode and Eco mode? My brother just got me a Prius to replace my old beater Honda and I'm having difficulty understanding the power usage meter (meter on dash with "Charge-Eco-Power") and the difference in the Eco & Power modes. I do understand the charge bit on the meter.
- Would a 125cc 4 stroke scooter be able to keep up with a 125cc sports bike? I'm thinking of getting a Sym Jet 4 125cc, and my friend rides a Honda CBR 125, we re riding about 3 hours down to the Bulldog Bash, would my scooter be powerful enough to keep up with him? And cruise comfortably at about 60mph? Long and short. How much of an advantage/disadvantage are gears when it comes to acceleration and speed.
- Where do I put my tax disc holder on a Honda cbf 125? I purchased a tax disc holder off ebay (universal for any bike), but I can't seem to locate where to put it on my honda cbf 125cc. Any help would be great.
- What 125 motorbikes are good for short people? I'm a really short female. I want a motorbike but all that I've found and liked the look of are really tall so it seems like mission impossible. I like the look of the Honda CBF. Can that be lowered, or are there any similar bikes? I don't really want a cruiser.
