Why would I buy a honda grom?
Lately I've seen many people buying honda groms, and large fan bases developing. I was just wondering why. I'm not against the grom, and I'm not trying to say anything bad about thrm, I'm just looking for opinions on what makes them desirable. With a top speed of 60ish, and a size that looks pretty uncomfortable for anyone over 5'10 what is the appeal? To me it is an expensive, scooter, with better looks. The gas mileage is impressive, and I can see how that would attract buyers, however I can't see many other reasons. Maybe the grom just doesn't appeal to my riding style, I'd just assume for the same price, a used cbr or ninja in the 250 to 500 range, or a good dual sport would accomplish the same tasks, with the added benefit of more speed. As I said before, I'm not here to bash the grom, just looking for others opinions, and maybe one will change my mind.
86 the Grom, get a Ninja, Nigthhawk, or similar, that can handle your girth.
I'm thinking the Grom just isn't your cup of tea. This is why we have such a wide range of choice.
If you don't fancy one, don't ride one.
If other people want them let them ride what they want.
Motorcyclists are at high risk in traffic crashes. A 2008 systematic review[1] examined studies on motorcycle riders who had crashed and looked at helmet use as an intervention. The review concluded that helmets reduce the risk of head injury by around 69% and death by around 42%. Although it was once speculated that wearing a motorcycle helmet increased neck and spinal injuries in a crash, recent evidence has shown the opposite to be the case, that helmets protect against cervical spine injury, and that an often-cited small study dating to the mid-1980s, "used flawed statistical reasoning
Check out some of the adventure bikes. A BMW R1200GS ought to do it for you, dude.
If it fits and you don't want a scooter because of 'Image' then Grom may make sense over a Ruckus. Grom isn't a main effort for the American Market, it is a seller of a Asian Domestic moderately popular model in a American Niche Market that has expanded some because of style and some peoples perceptions. It is a practical transport in some Asian markets as alternate to the small scooters and has become a moderate campus favorite locally. You note the 5'10 inch rider in US as a average- but the Asian market especially among students is 5'2 and 125 pounds instead of 180 pounds male US. Don't fit a Grom because you're too big? Check out a SYM 100 instead- they make a licensed copy of earlier Honda trail and street 90 that fits more taller/larger Americans.
- Do you need a motorcycle license for a Honda Grom? I have my normal driving license, would I need a moped license or motorcycle license? Or could I just use it with my normal drivers license.
- Can someone guess me a guesstimate on motorcycle payments for a 2015 Honda Grom? Hi, I'm 16, Michigan, and I'm looking to get a motorcycle to get me to school and work cheaply. I don't want a moped but I've found this tiny Honda Grom motorcycle and I was just wondering if anyone could tell me the monthly payments and insurance that I would be looking at. I know there are a few variables so any rough estimates are appreciated. I just need to know if this would be within reason working at McDonalds. The bike is $3,200 btw.
- Should I buy a brand new honda civic? Why or why not? I need a new car that is inexpensive, has full warranty, is reliable and I feel that's the best fit.
- Why would anyone buy a Honda HR-V when it's so close in price to CR-V? CR-V is $22K according to Truecar and HR-V is $20K. So why would anyone buy the inferior HR-V over CR-V?
