Why Toyota and honda are best?

Why just not nissan, mitsubishi, Subaru and mazda? They are pretty decent cars

Yeah

Statistically, Toyotas and Hondas have a slight quality edge over the other three. In recent years, Subaru and Mazda have caught up and in some classes of cars, overtaken Honda and Toyota. Nissans (Infiniti aside) aren't reliable across the brand.
We've owned 2 Toyotas, 2 Scions, 1 Nissan, 1 Infiniti, 3 Subarus, 2 Mitsubishis, 2 Mazdas and now I have a Honda. Of all of them, the Honda is the best vehicle, but although it's an 06, it was the top of the line (leather, heated seats, etc), and jus… Better.

Because Toyotas are the most reliable, well-built cars on the market. Period. End of story.

V W has good records [[[ with the exception of the TDi diesel engine problems ]]] if you are considering buying a new car then it is a good idea to see what is being offered at the V W dealerships and check prices… The Honda Accord stays on the road and has a long life [[ many miles driver ]] ANY car you buy needs the regular maintenance and if you do that you will get dependable service from your car…

All Japanese cars are best, but

Nissan has build quality issue, so they don't offer many styling as well, Nissan are boring and bland but at least they are reliable,

Mitsubishi is good but they don't offer many models as well

Subaru are best selling performance cars in the market,

Even Hyundai, Kia and VW are decent reliable and styling

Engineering and materials and workmanship make them superior products.

All the Japanese brands have their pros & cons.

Honda and Toyota are the two brands that give you the least amount of grief. They are only considered the best because that's something the majority of the population want out of a car.

The beauty of our consumer market is there are enough choices for everyone to pick what best suites their individual needs. THAT particular vehicle is best for THEM.

I prefer my vehicles to delive driving excitement and drink premium because of it, so I would never be caught dead in a Honda or Toyota, no matter how good the total quality management is.

Honda just pays a lot for advertising and charges an arm and a leg for repairs. Tires and brake job are likely to set you back $1500. Time ha gone by so that might include engine and trans servicing, but from personal experience, they are a money pit.

They aren't the best. They just enjoy the media perception that they are the best. In fact Mazda out ranks them both in almost every comparison by the automotive press that I've ever read.

Reputation is not always on target. Honda had a terrible decade between 1998 and 2007. The Great Honda Automatic Transmission Debacle between 1998 and 2004 (it took them six years to address a horrible reliability problem) left millions of former customers swearing never to buy another Honda. In the 2006 model year porous engine blocks afflicted Civics, and in 2008 Honda messed with the brake proportioning in the Accord and produced rear brakes that would last as little as 5000 miles. In more recent years buyers of the Civic Hybrid found they could have good fuel economy or good hybrid battery life, but not both.
