01 Honda Prelude engine knocking, have audio clip?
This started about a week ago and it really has me worried. I had my oil changed today but it still makes the knock so that's something that could be crossed off the list. I would really appreciate any help in identifying the problem because i'm at a loss. I would have revved the engine but i'm to scared, but when the rpm's do climb the knocking noise just gets faster with it. It is an automatic base trim if that helps any, thank you for the help in advance.
Sorry to say IMHO you more than likely have a very serious problem. The sound I hear is a severe knock. This is normally caused by severe wear to the rod or crankshaft bearing. Time to have a professional listen to this. You are more than likely going to need a complete engine overhaul. But until you have a professional diagnose the problem you will not know for sure. There are other things that can cause this sound.
- What's the best engine (to add horse power and torque) that i can swap into my 1999 Honda Prelude? Currently i have an H22A but i heard that the k series or even the f series are better? Is this true or should i just stick with my H22A?
- What is the deference between a 1990 Honda prelude and a 1991 Honda prelude? Can I do a motor swap with my 1990 Honda Prelude with a 1991 Honda prelude? Both are b21a1 2.05L engines
- How do I stop the knocking? I have a Honda Shadow Ace motorcycle and when you rev it there's a knocking noise coming from the engine. It runs well but it doesn't sound the best and if anyone has heard of this and knows what to do to stop this it would be great to know and a lot of help!
- Does a 5th Gen honda prelude h22 head fit a 4th Gen prelude? I have a 1996 honda prelude si (4th gen) with a h23 engine and I want to swap my head to a h22 and I couldn't find any 4th generation being part out, but I did find a 1997 honda prelude (5th gen) being part out and I'm not sure if it'll fit my engine.
