99 Honda accord 4 door automatic blinking d4 light that doesn't go off?

I recently took my car in to Meineke for some starter issues and he checked all my connections and it was doing fine, but I do need a new starter apparently. But I'm worried he bumped something when checking the connections. Now when I start the D4 light is blinking and doesn't stop. Is it my transmission or a connection of some sort? When I try to drive it's like it barely accelerates.

The flashing D4 is Honda's version of the transmission equivalent of a "check engine" light. It may be reporting an internal or (more often) external problem. Back to Meineke for a follow-up. My guess is it will be minor.

BTW, starter problems are not very common in that era Accod, but ignition switch problems are very common, especially on the starter contacts. There were three recalls on the ignition switch for the 1999 Accord, one of them for that starting problem. It would be good to call Honda to see if the recalls are still active and if your car still needs them. Free repairs are best.

Won't go off the problem that set it off is repaired. Find local shop at ATRA.COM to scan the code and give you a estimate to repair. Honda had transmission problems from 98-07. So don't be surprised if the shop tells you it needs to be rebuilt

That blinking shift indicator light means there's a transmission electrical problem which puts your car into fail safe mode. When in fail safe mode you only have 3rd and reverse gears. Starting from a stop in 3rd gear is why the vehicle feels slow.
i don't have a clue why you went to a joint like Meineke instead of to a private mechanic's shop but it wouldn't surprise me if the high school drop outs working their messed up your car while "checking connections". Don't go to a transmission shop or they will just tell you that you need a rebuilt transmission. Go to the dealer if you don't know how to find a decent mechanic's garage.
