Can I run 215-55-r17 instead of 215-50-r17 on my 2007 honda accord'?
You could, but why would you want to? Find a set of 215/55-17 tires that were cheaper? That is not a good justification for using something other than the recommended size suggested by the automaker. The engineers and designers at Honda spent a ton of time, energy and money determining which size tires would perform best on your Accord. You should trust their judgement.
You can but increasing the aspect ratio (going from 50 to 55) will increase the overall diameter and circumference of the tire. An increase in the size of the sidewall can make the steering feel less responsive. The increase in the overall circumference of the tire will also throw off the speedometer reading.
It's recommended to stay with the stock tire size determined by the manufacturer for the best performance.
- If in the owners manual it says I should use 5W-20 motor oil, can I use 10W-40 motor oil instead? I have a 2009 Honda Fit. I just recently bought 10W-40 and when I got home to put oil in the manual said 5W-20. What's the difference? And is it okay if I still use the 10W-40?
- Can you use TransX stop leak fluid for your 98 honda instead of regular red fluid? I saw that my transmission had no oil in it and I got TransX fluid for it. Can I fill it up with that instead of regular atf red fluid? This fluid was not red.
- Can 1996 Honda Accord run okay without catalytic converter? Someone cut mine out and stole it. Assuming it is legal to do so, can I straight-pipe to the muffler? Will the car run correctly? I'm hesitant to put another cat-converter and have it stolen again. Obviously it is illegal to remove a cat-converter. Legally driving without one depends on where you live.
