Can I sue a dealer if I bought the car as is?
I purchase my first car and only had it for 4 months I got it August 11 and it broke down December 11 the motor went bad and it's gonna cost me $6000 to plus $1000 to get the suspension replace also, the car is worth 7,000 with 122,000 miles and btw it's a 2012 Honda Accord what to do? I need help
As is… Is… As is… Good luck… You get what you pay for
How did you destroy a Honda in only 4 months?
As is means you got it AS IS… No warranties, no promises
You are basically SOL. How was it broken? Have you been checking the oil? Did you get somebody to look at the car before you bought it? Get it repaired or junk it.
You deal with it. A used engine is a viable option for that. Should be able to find one with less miles on it that your old one even. Find a shop that will sell you and install a used engine.
I tell people to get cars inspected prior to purchase all the time and nobody listens. $1000 of suspention work at 122k, wow wtf
You agreed to buy the car as-is. Buying a car as-is means you are responsible for anything that goes wrong with the car as soon as you sign on the dotted line to take ownership of the car. Yes it absolutely sucks that it needs whatever expensive repairs it needs now, but you can't sue the dealership that sold it to you (and win, anyway) specifically because YOU agreed to take the car as-is, without any sort of warranty. Save your money to pay for the repairs, don't waste more money trying to take the dealership to court because you won't win in court.
Sure, you can sue anyone for anything. You would not win.
Both the motor & suspension likely would have been noticed if you had a mechanic check the car prior to buying it.
But, you saved $100-150.
You don't need a new suspension. And a used motor is cheaper than new. Lots less than $6000.
You don't have a lot of options. Try to get it fixed for less money
- Can i sue used car dealer ship? I brought a 2012 vw jetta in 2014. I paid almost 1900 in total. I new i was robbed after the fact. In 2016 I go to Honda dealer ship to try and trade in my car and they told me that my car was reported stolen in 2013 and that my car was used a a rental. Honda told me that I have a upside down car because they over charger me and didn't tell me the true facts about the car. Can i take them to court?
- I have a 2014 Honda. I bought the battery 2 years ago from the dealer? Last night I went to start it and it made the machine gun sound, got a neighbor to jump me and it worked fine. This morning it also started first try, So, WHat happened last night and will it happen again? Do I need to take action so I won't get stranded?
- My parents won't buy me the car I want. Should I sue? It's not like I'm spoiled and want a Lexus, I just want a Honda CRV! Instead they bought me a Honda Fit which is too small and like 1/2 the price!
- Does Dealer have to pay for Dry Rotted tires on a car bought brand new off the lot? I was driving home today when my tire literally collapsed in on itself. The car was bought brand new off the lot of the honda dealership, its barely 1.5 years old. My tire light did come on but its going from winter to summer here so I figured I'd just needed to put air in them as usual. Should the dealer have to replace the tires on the car if they are in fact dry rotted? I'm pretty sure it is dry rot as it doesn't look like any flat I've ever had…
