Can I use 98v tires instead of 94v?

My honda accord is currently using 94v tires. Would it be okay if i replaced them with 98v tires?

The numbers refer to the load rating of the tyre i.e. How much weight that tyre can take at max pressure. Weights are in metric because that's the international standard.
94 is 670Kg
98 is 750Kg
Going up is not gonna be a problem though you may be paying for more tyre than you need. Of course, all this assumes your car has the correct tyres fitted in the first place. Check the tyre placard on your car to get the OEM speed and load ratings, or look it up on a website like wheel-size.com

98v is rated for 1653 lbs, 94v is rated for 1477 lbs, (in lbs since the spelling "tires"). So the tire can handle the weight. But the question is what is the correct tire pressure?

According to engineers at TOYO tires the catch you have is that the higher load rating usually is at a higher maximum pressure, so if you pressurize the tires to the door jam sticker the tire will be at a lower percentage of maximum pressure and load, so may actually under inflate the tire. So you will likely need to increase tire pressure by a couple psi. I know seems a little counter-intuitive.

Yes. But read the manual and put the recommended tires for your car.

Dafuq are we talking about here? Tires or car batteries?

Henny,

Whether it would be safe to use a less load carrying capable tire will depend on the specific year and trim level of your Accord. What year and trim level are you driving?

The numbers are the speed ratings, you can change them but you must have the same speed rated tires on the same axle
