Not the best idea. For a 15 inch tire and wheel set up on your 2001 Accord 205/60-15 is the recommended size. A 185/65-15 sized tire would not have a sufficient contact patch or load carrying capability needed for you larger and heavier Accord.
If your Honda is a 2 dr. Coupe the correct size is 205/60-15 but if it is a 4dr then the correct size is 195/65-15. The 185/65-15 tire is an acceptable swap as a snow tire. There's only 2.05% difference in overall diameter which is acceptable. You should never go over or under 3%. Know that your speedometer will read 58 at a true 60 mph. There's only.04" smaller difference in the contact patch. In snow this is actually a good thing. Bottom line is that if you are a 4 dr Accord then this will work just fine. If you have a Coupe this is not an acceptable swap.
Thank you very much for your reply, especially KY-Clay. I do have a 4 door sedan and the tires on my Accord are 195/65 R15 that were exactly the size for my old Civic. I'm going to try to put them on to see how do it goes.
