Honda 1999 accord problem?

Had a rebuilt transmission from japan put in 3 months ago now check engine light on and d4 light blinks on dash. But doesn't read any codes. Found out the transmission guy put the original selonoids on the car cuz the other ones that came with the trans didn't fit could that be the problem? If I change the selonoids will the light stop blinking?

If the transmission is an exact fit why would it have different solonids. The cel bulb could be burning out especially if it's an incandescent type.

Chis has a very good question. The solenoids should be tested during the rebuilding of the transmission, if you've ever find out any transmission technician rebuild any transmission and did not test or replacing the defected solenoids: Shoot him. He's nothing but a "Shade tree" person, not even in my vocabulary: An auto technician, left alone: A transmission technician!

The "D4" light is blinking, it should have a code(s) store. If you have already know that the "Unfit" solenoids were "Re-Installed" why not return the transmission for warranty? It does not make sense at all.

The D4 light is blinking and you can't retrieve any code? Huh? Try another scanner. No code read and how did you find out the transmission guy put the original shifting solenoids back as a fault or defect?

How do you know to replace the solenoids with the correct ones and hoping that will correct the problem without knowing the code(s) or problem which should guide you into the right diagnosing path(s)?

The description of the problem is not clear nor adding up. Tell me the rear story: Who rebuilt the transmission? What has he done? What was the original problem(s)?

Rebuilt transmission will not act up three months after rebuilding. It'll happened within no more than a day of driving or less than 50 miles or two driving cycles if you know what I've meant.

So again, tell me the truth and I can help: All of the way. If I've insulted your mechanically inclined or intelligent: I'm sorry!
