How much can I sell my Honda Accord for?

Honda Accord 1998 LX Coupe

Recently, I got into a car accident where a man in a big truck rear ended me. It was pretty hard too because my trunk was pushed in and won't close. The bumper is falling apart and when I was putting gas in the car some of it was leaking out. Their insurance company is going to give me the car back and $2,300. The car has always driven good and still does now. I bought it a year ago and the previous owners took really good care of it and had a bunch of receipts to show. The car has 270,000 miles on it. So my question is how much do you think I will be able to get for it? Thanks.

Also, I was injured during the car accident and the right side of me neck is swollen and you can feel it. It is very stiff and uncomfortable. The doctor has sent me to physical therapy. The insurance company offered to pay me $500 for it. Does that sound like a good amount as well? Thanks.

Added (1). Thank you, Cat Mama. I have leather interior and the driver seat is ripped. The exterior paint is peeling at the top of the car from the sun(I think).

By the pound is all it will get

Do not excpt any settlement from the Insurance company until you are healed and all medical bills are paid. Signing anything or letting them threaten you is grounds for a suit, get healthy, insure you are Good to go then after all this is said and done except a payment for personal injuries and time lost, and pain and suffering. This is after they have paid All medical.

For your injury you should gain restitution for pain/injury/time suffering and medical costs (this includes physical therapy). You should really get more than $500 because I assume you are going to (or will be) spending more than that.

A couple options about selling:

1. You could sell PARTS of your car if the back is salvaged pretty bad. This might take some time, but you can get decent money for parts.

2. Selling the car to a private owner might increase your chances of getting more for your money. Explaining you are the 2nd owner and the original owner kept the car in mint condition will help. Any explanation and proof that you can give them to ensure you took decent care of it is great. The fact that you were hit is not your fault, so finding someone who might want to work on a car or buy a cheap one may be a good idea.

3. Cash for Cars - you take your salvaged vehicle and trade… For cash.

It might be a good idea to get a quote about repairing the damage. If its reasonable, possibly consider repairing it, to add worth to the car and get a little more for it.

Without any damage, the car would probably be worth $2,000 - 3,000 (Give or take because of mileage and condition of the rest of the car. Such as interior, engine, tires, lights, exterior paint - scratches at all?)

I'm guessing if the car still runs well and the only big thing is the trunk damage you could probably get $1,000-2,000 range somewhere. I know its quite a gap but other factors come into play so just consider those as well.
