How much gas millage does a 2014 Honda Accord Sport get while in Sports Mode?
I recently bought a 2014 Honda Accord Sport. It's a front wheel drive, four cylinder engine. The base horsepower is 189. However, when the Accord is placed into sports mode, it gains an extra four horsepower making it 193 horsepower. When driving in the regular driving mode the Accord get twentity-six highway, thrity-four highway and a combine twentity-nine. I was wondering what gas millage the Accord gets when placed in sport mode? With the extra horsepower does it get lower or stay the same?
I do not know where you came up with the idea that Sport Mode adds 4 h.p. To your Accord. This is simply not true. All Sport Mode does is change the computer controlled shift points of the transmission to a higher RPM. This allows the engine to rev slightly higher in each gear before it changes gears. Sport Mode will decrease your mileage slightly as the engine is shifting at a slightly higher rpm. When in Sport mode, the transmission will take longer to shift and rev the engine higher, consuming more fuel. You do not have any more horsepower.
The laws of physics say it will get lower, though I'd bet this is more likely to do with tweaked gear ratios or cam profiles. And I'd further bet that the biggest difference comes from the driver, who's thinking "Hey, I'm in Sports Mode!" and starts driving harder.
- Prius: Can someone explain the power usage meter & specific difference between power mode and Eco mode? My brother just got me a Prius to replace my old beater Honda and I'm having difficulty understanding the power usage meter (meter on dash with "Charge-Eco-Power") and the difference in the Eco & Power modes. I do understand the charge bit on the meter.
- Good millage automatic car? I'm in a mission of getting a used decent car for my family that has to have 4 doors and an automatic adjustment seat button as I'm a 4 foot 10 and my husband is almost a 6 foot. It's really tricky thing for us. We're thinking about Honda but seems like the price that we can afford doesn't get the 'seat button' feature. So now we're thinking what other made that might satisfied our category. Our budget is up to $ 10,000. Any advice will be appreciated…
- Will 2013-2015 Honda Accord Sport 18 wheels fit on my 2014 Accord LX? So I would like to get some OEM Honda Accord sport wheels on my LX but will I be able to just simply switch them? As far as I'm concerned they should but should I worry that the sport Tire is 1.5" larger in diameter and the rim is 2" larger?
- Would a 4 Cylinder Car in Sport Mode be able to accelerate faster than a V6 car in ECO mode? Take the Honda CRV Turbo at 190 horse power 4 cylinder in Sport Mode vs the Oddysey with 285 Horsepower on ECO with a V6.
