How to increase mpg on a 1995 honda accord with Mods?

I'm looking for ways to increase mileage on my 95 honda accord it's a 4 cylinder motor and it gives me about 22mpg city right now. I'm going to get a tuneup to bring it back up to 25 mpg city.

I'm looking for any mods i can do to my car to increase the mpg so any idea guys?

A tune up for this car is new plugs period, thats it. You can do this yourself in a half hour, and ask to have them gauged at the parts store they will gladly do this.change the air cleaner, insure the tire pressue is correct. The proper pressure is written on the side of the tire, If this gets 22 be happy nothing you do is going to make any differance on a car this age, I would use synthetic oil this will add a possible mile to gallon.

No amount of modifications will affect mileage in the slightest. Sure, you could get an aftermarket intake, header, high flow catalytic converter and free flowing exhaust. You'll pick up a little power and, if you drive very conservative already, you might pick up 1/10th of a MPG. But you would have spent $1500+ to do it.

The best way to reduce fuel consumption?
1. Properly aired up tires.
2. Make sure the wheel bearings are in good condition.
3. Remove all unnecessary junk from the car.
4. Keep the engine in proper working order. Clean air filters, fuel filters, oil, etc.
5. Drive slow. Learn how to time lights in your area. A higher average speed is always better.
6. Drive when it is coolest out in the summer, and warmest in the winter.
7. Let the car warm up for a couple minutes before driving.

Remove the mods and tune up the car. Stop driving like a maniac. No short trips. Take out anything you are hauling around that you don't need and leave it at home. No hard starts, try to time your city driving to not stop. Slow down. Big one: make sure your tires are aired up properly.

Yeah, remove the mods and reset the car to factory specs.

None of that crap will actually do anything to boost your mileage. If they did, the engineers would work them into the car. If you could spend 1000 bucks and get 50 mpg, they would have done that at the factory and charged you another 10 grand for the car.

  • Best mods for a Honda CRF150F 2014? Just wondering what would be the best mods to get for my bike. I'm planning on getting a pro circuit t4 exhaust system and was wanting to get a big bore kit but they only seem to sell them in America. Does anyone know if places sell big bore kits in Australia? Or if there's better mods to get?
  • Any good mods for a 2001 Honda Cbr 600 F4i? Just thinking about any cosmetic or bolt on mods i could do! All i've done is put a Yoshi exhaust and thats it! Any ideas are appreciated!
  • 1995 Honda Magna vs 1995 Honda VFR 750? Which is better at -top speed -acceleration -do you think the top two matter? -driving pleaser (if you know) -sound (if you know) -reliability I'm looking to get one of these two but I'm not sure which one. I feel like I love these two motorcycles equally so do I get the cheaper one that I can find?
  • If I made a few mods to the frame of a 1972 Honda z50, can I classify it as a moped? The 1972 honda z50 came with a vin. So it had to be street legal. In Michigan the engine has to be under 100cc, automatic engine and not go over 30 mph to be a moped. I have seen some mods that people have done to the frame but I just wanted to make sure
