How to prepare my car for snow?

I have a honda accord. I accepted an internship in Placerville, Ca and I was told that it might snow a bit. But I don't want to spend too much money. It's only a 12 week internship and they're not paying me much, just enough for food and transportation. Is it really necessary to get snow tires or are there other alternatives? And about how much do they cost.

As long as you have all-season tires and the snow isn't too heavy then you should be good. If you absolutely need to get there in a heavy snow and you're worried, you can get tire chains or straps.

Buy a set of tire chains to fit your front tires. Probably less than $50, and Some places in California will even buy them back if you don't need to use them during the winter. US Hwy 50 from Sacramento to Placerville is occasionally closed to vehicles that are not using chains.

  • Will a car dealership work with me if I'm gonna lease a new car, while trading in the car I have, which has an outstanding loan against it? The car I have now has a loan against it which is worth more than the trade in value of the car by about $5000. If me and a family member were BOTH looking to lease a new car (so 2 new cars), does anyone know if a dealership will be working to work with me in any way? Also the cars looking to be leased are not high end or luxury cars, they d be coming from a dealership like Honda, Toyota, or Subaru.
  • Snow tires Honda Odyssey? I have a 2010 Odyssey that's FWD. It sucks in the snow. I can't afford 4 new snow tires so should I only put 2 on the front?
  • Is a Honda Civic Hatchback good in the snow, or should I get a CRV instead? I live in Ontario up North and we got a lot of snow this year. I was driving a 2005 Altima FWD with winter tires. I got stuck many times, lost grip on the road many times. The snow ate up half the car when it snowed a lot. I was wondering to get the civic hatchback 2019, but I don't want to get stuck in snow again. I was wondering if the CRV AWD would be better in the winter and safer in general
  • Can stock car parts of a newer car go into an older car? Have a 2011 suzuki sx4 not driveable. Driving around a 99 honda crv. is it possible to put the deck of the suzuki (already removed) and place into the crv? The speakers are the same size i'm thinking about those as well but is that much of an upgrade?; I can't find the power of the stock speakers to both cars. Thank you, I had a system in suzuki i removed wanting to put in my crv.
