I hate the car that my parents bought for me?
I just turned 16 on February 10th and my parents got me a car for my birthday. They got me a 2009 Honda Accord. I know its not that old, but it has problems. When I drive it the car stops at random times, it's dangerous. And the window doesn't work. I can't even go through a drive thru because the window won't go down. What should I do? How should I tell my parents that i hate it and that I want a new car?
Wait, your parents expect you to get out of your car and actually walk 25 steps to get your food?
Gosh
call child services immediately
this borders on abuse
Don't tell them you hate the car. Just tell them there are problems wit the car that really make you nervous and needs to be checked out. To tell them you hate the car would ruin their efforts in trying to give you a gift and hurt their feelings. If the car randomly stops, that is something serious that needs to be checked out, because you don't want to be stuck and abandoned somewhere, especially if you are not familiar with the area.
I WISH my parents could have gotten me a car around that age, no matter what model or year. I road the school bus every year up until graduation. Kids were annoying non-stop, always hot, and too crowded. You have your own privacy on wheels. And after high school I still road the city bus to and from college. Due to circumstances, I finally got myself a car just last year and it feels amazing. So, don't take it for granted.
Quit grumbling and be grateful.
Start working. Sell it and buy a new one. Be humble lol.
Then they need to smack you for being an ungrateful brat and either sell it or keep it and not allow you to ever use it since you are spoiled and ungrateful
I wouldnt tell them you hate it, i would just ask them to help you fix the problems in your new car so you can use it without it being dangerous, just be honest with it about stuff like that
Here's a thought: If you don't like a car that your parents GENEROUSLY bought you, get a job, save your money and buy your own car.
If the car needs repairs, again, get a job and get it fixed.
I assume they're also paying your insurance and what not. You have no idea what this car is actually costing them.
Be thankful they're in a position to buy you a car at all. Most 16 year olds don't get a car bought for them.
Crazy idea but take the car to the dealer or a mechanic and have the car fixed.
You should take your parents on a ride with it. A car is a huge gift and it's better to let them see for themselves that it's bad rather than tell tgem and seem ungreatfull. Preferably on a hot summer day when rolling down the windows is nesesary. If they ask you why you didn't tell them it was malfunctioning, tell them you didn't want to hurt them… Hope this helps… You are so lucky to be able to drive… I wish it was legal in my country…
- I just bought a brand new car and I want to get a different car? 3 weeks ago I bought a 2017 Honda hatchback EX and I want to get the touring instead. I haven't made any payments yet just the down payment of $2000. How should I go about getting a diff car? How much would trade in value be? I got the EX for 24000$
- How to tell if my registration was included when I bought my used car from Honda? I bought a 2010 Hyundai Sonata on February 14, 2014. On my contract under Vehicle license fees, it says I paid $208.00. It also says that I paid $20.00 for Registration/Transfer/Titling Fees. It is now May 1st, and I have not received ANYTHING at all from the DMV. What should I do? P.S. I'm in the state of California
- My parents won't buy me the car I want. Should I sue? It's not like I'm spoiled and want a Lexus, I just want a Honda CRV! Instead they bought me a Honda Fit which is too small and like 1/2 the price!
- Bought a new car and newer version is coming out? In February I bought a 2013 Honda Fit with navigation brand NEW. Now the 2015 is coming out and obviously I owe more than what my car is worth because of the warranty i also purchased with it. I was wondering if anyone has ever had this happen or think possibly the dealer will let me trade my car in for an equal value of the newer car?
