I have a 1992 honda accord?
It started yesterday. It runs fine but when I turn the key off it continues to run.
in order to get it to turn off I had to disconnect the negative battery cable. I then put the cable back on and started it with the same result, it continued to run after I shut it off and I had to disconnect the negative cable again. I've never heard of this happening. Can someone give me an idea what's wrong?
I'd sure appreciate that.
ITS A BAD IGN SWITCH
I'd say the electrical portion of the ignition switch has a short to power. Drop the steering column plastic shroud and disconnect the harness connector to the ignition switch unit with the motor running to see if that kills the motor. Check the wiring to the starter to make sure a mouse didn't chew the wiring and short the harness wires before replacing the ignition switch electrical unit.
- Can an OBD scanner be used on a 1992 Honda Accord EX? I'm having trouble with the check engine light coming on when I reach over 55 mph on the highway So I'm wondering if an OBD scanner can be used on this car being that it is. 1992 Thank you. Knowledgable answers will be preciated!
