I have a 93 honda accord. My car is puttering and has no power. Y?
I changed the spark plugs, spark plug wires, the o rings under the spark plugs, nothing seems to fix the problem.
Check engine light? Codes?
Recent tuneup? If you haven't done it lately, change filters, especially fuel filter. If you have water in fuel, you may have to change repeatedly, or remove/clean fuel tank. Try premium gas, or octane booster/fuel conditioner. Take to parts-store for diagnostic. (This might be a good first move.)
Take a look at the spark. It should be mostly blue with a sharp snap. If it is orange with a lackluster tapping sound the igniter is probably dying. Generally, a new distributor is the best way to handle that.
- Prius: Can someone explain the power usage meter & specific difference between power mode and Eco mode? My brother just got me a Prius to replace my old beater Honda and I'm having difficulty understanding the power usage meter (meter on dash with "Charge-Eco-Power") and the difference in the Eco & Power modes. I do understand the charge bit on the meter.
