Is a BMW sedan more expensive to insure than a Honda coupe?
I just bought a Honda Accord coupe (2 door) and I paid it off in full. Now I want a BMW. Is it more expensive to insure (4 door sedan)?
Money isn't an issue but I already paid off a years worth of insurance upfront. I just wanna know how much extra I d have to pay.
No simple answer. There are some pretty basic BMWs that really have no more insurance risk than a Honda Accord. Then there are V8 powered beasts that will attract higher insurance premiums, especially for a young driver. For example you can buy a 520i with a perfectly sensible 2l, 4 cly engine. Comparable with an Accord really. Or basically the same car as an M5 with a 500 hp V10.
Pick a couple of models that you are interest in, and call YOUR insurance company. They will be able to give you a fairly accurate estimate from year and model number.
Call your agent and ask.
A $95,000 750i will most likely cost a bit more to insure than an Accord.
A 15 year old 3 series, might be cheaper…
Have to call and ask.
Hi so as BMW is a prestige make of car it needs a prestige mechanic to service it and take care of it. Could you afford to be without it whilst it is being repaired considering that it is over 8 years old.
It depends on the car's performance and value more than the number of doors
- Why does it appear used cars are more expensive than new? For example. I'm looking at a 2019 Honda City, new it's $17,990 drive away if I look on car sales the 2017 model is even $19,000. Ok the 2019 is a manual price but that's a huge difference and 2 years on. Please tell me what I'm missing?
- Which brands of cars are more reliable and less expensive to maintain? I have been driving American cars, Honda, Toyota and they're easy to find parts when something go wrong. I would like to buy a Volkswagen beetle or a European car. Like 2004 or 2003 Volkswagen beetle. If something go wrong, does it cost more to fix it? Is maintenance more expensive than a Honda or a Toyota yaris. I know the Honda and Toyota last forever after a few hundred thousand miles and they re still in excellent running condition with regular services. What do you guys think?
- Is Hyundai less expensive to maintain than Lexus, Toyota and Honda? Looking to buy a Hyundai genesis coupe 2010-13 and is it a good car and will last a good while? Will get it if it's less expensive to maintain than the others above
- Will it cost more to insure a Jeep or regular car.like Honda? I was thinking to trade in my Honda civic 2005 for a Jeep Liberty 2008. But if the insurance will be much higher.than I will not. Any guesses would be great or any way to find this out.
