Opinons on new car choice?

Am looking to get a new car before college as a graduation present and am wanting some advice on what to do. I can either get a new 2015 honda accord EXL coupe with the V6 engine, or a used nicer car, such as a mercedes C350 coupe or an audi a5 with around 30,000 miles (probably 2011-2012). A few things to note are that I do want a car that is fast and I enjoy nicer cars, but I also want something reliable since I'm going to college and will be driving home around once a month or so (its about a 5 hour drive). Any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Added (1). Note: a 2012 used bmw 328i coupe is also an option.

Honda accord

Why do you need a vehicle that is "fast"? Do you plan on exceeding posted speed limits? The used vehicles you list will have very poor fuel mileage + be expensive to repair ; the 2015 is also a bad choice because the moment one tire leaves the dealer lot, the vehicle loses $ 1000's in value

I would resist the urge to buy a used European luxury car. The high cost of maintenance and the higher insurance premiums will make any of those used high end cars cost more than the brand new Honda in the long run.

But I will also say that you should choose the 4 cyl. Over the V6 Accord. You aren't losing much performance at all and the 4cyl. Is a better, more reliable engine. The V6 gets poor reliability ratings.
I love the Accord coupe.

Just for the heck of it, try the Mazda 6. It isn't as fast as the Accord, but it's quick, has amazing handling, nice styling, and gets very high owner satisfaction ratings.

I've got an 06 Accord V6 coupe with a 6 speed. It's fantastic, but it's the 3 liter engine which is much more reliable than current V6s. Plus it gets only 1 MPG less than the 4 cylinder. I could steer clear of the Mercedes and BMW type things; they aren't very reliable. If you want a 6 cylinder, I would think Camry. They aren't flashy, but they scoot.

I'm in love with the new Honda Accord since I drove one last year. The EXL, honestly, will drive and perform so incredibly well, so enjoyably, you won't miss the so called "upscale" appeal of the Audi or Benz. Plus both of them are very expensive to maintain and not exactly trouble free like Hondas are.

I agree the V6 will be fun and powerful, but the 4 cyl isn't far behind at all-- they go like you wouldn't believe, and get much better economy.

I'd go on Autotrader.com or Cars.com and look for the best overall price. I'd not worry about the depreciation, as Accords are tops for holding their value… And the used Benz and Audi will drop at about the same rate if not more… Since you'll be taking a 30,000 mile car and taking it over 50k very soon… Into a lower value zone and a "ready for major repair" zone.
