What is the drive cycle for a 2010 Honda Accord?
I need the EVAP and catalytic converter reset.
Two cycles: Stop and go in the city for haft an hour or so. Shut the car off, then re-start and hit the freeway no less than 45 Mph and no more than 65r Mph. Be best if you can set it with the cruise control. If you have to hit the brake: Fine, but do not let the speed drop below 45 Mph, re-engaging the cruise control and keep going for 40-50 miles.
Shut the engine off at the comfort of your garage, let it sit over night and repeat step one. One condition: If the CEL (MIL) on or code(s) stores in the ECM then the problem has to be repaired…
From pages 393-394 of the 2010 Accord (sedan) owner's manual:
<begin quote>
1. Make sure the gas tank is nearly, but not completely, full (around 3/4).
2. Make sure the vehicle has been parked with the engine off for 6 hours or more.
3. Make sure the ambient temperature is between 40° and 95°F (4° and 35°C).
4. Without touching the accelerator pedal, start the engine, and let it idle for 20 seconds.
5. Keep the vehicle in Park (automatic) or neutral (manual). Increase the engine speed to 2,000 rpm, and hold it there until the temperature gauge rises to at least 1/4 of the scale (about 3 minutes).
6. Without touching the accelerator pedal, let the engine idle for 20 seconds.
7. Select a nearby lightly traveled major highway where you can maintain a speed of 50 to 60 mph (80 to 97 km/h) for at least 20 minutes. Drive on the highway in D (automatic) or 5th (manual). Do not use the cruise control. When traffic allows, drive for 90 seconds without moving the accelerator pedal. (Vehicle speed may vary slightly; this is okay.) If you can't do this for a continuous 90 seconds because of traffic conditions, drive for at least 30 seconds, then repeat it two more times (for a total of 90 seconds).
8. Then drive in city/suburban traffic for at least 10 minutes. When traffic conditions allow, let the vehicle coast for several seconds without using the accelerator pedal or the brake pedal.
9. Make sure the vehicle has been parked with the engine off for 30 minutes.
If the testing facility determines the readiness codes are still not set, see your dealer.

- Why is it that some husbands let their wives drive luxury cars while they drive ordinary cars? I've been observing some of my neighbors (one of them is a stay at home mom) and the husbands drive ordinary cars like Honda Accord or Honda Pilot. But the wives tend to drive luxury cars like Acura TSX or Acura RDX (some form of luxury car). What is the reason for this? Why do wives get to drive luxury cars while the husband drives ordinary car? I should say some of them. Its not a problem though but was only curious. The neighbors are Asians actually.
- Which is a better motor cycle brand, honda or harley? I want to buy a motorcycle, and I don't know which brand I want. I want a cruiser, not a crotch rocket. Any opinions on which brand has a better bike?
- What happens if you put premium 2-cycle oil in your car? I have a 1993 Honda civic and I was changing my oil and I grabbed the wrong oil and I put 2-cycle oil in my car. Will it be ok? If not, what should I do?!
- 2012 Mustang Gt vs 2014 Scion tc vs 2010 Honda civic vs 2010 Chevrolet Camaro? Don't worry about the money. Just need to know which ones are the most reliable (in order from best to worst if possible please) and which one I should get! I'm 17 years old.
