What parts of a car is it safe to put a tow hook without damaging my car and other parts?
So i own a 2007 saturn ion 4dr and i got stuck in the snow and a friend thought of pulling the car out but the problem is it doesn't have anything to put a chain on like this honda accord that has it underneath the bumper
Honda accord stock hook
My other idea is putting on a trailer hitch just like this video and just use it for getting pull out if i get stuck again
Your handbook should give you the towing point.
In your toolkit you may have a towing eye which screws into a point on your car.
Reading the handbook always is a good start.
You'll have a towing eye that screws in through a small flap in the front and rear bumpers. Read your manual.
Many cars have a tie-down bracket on the front and rear frame for use on a train or car hauler. If not, there's usually a slot in the frame in the front and rear that a T-hook will fit. Get a T-hook if you have the slots.
If you put a tow hitch on the rear then end up with the rear off the road or in a snow bank, then what?
I have a tow ball on the rear bumper of my Ford Ranger pickup. I put a 3/4 inch eye bolt in an existing 3/4 inch hole in my front crossmember. So I have an attachment point on both ends.
Look up "t hook" online. Northerntool.com has them.
You can get with an "eye" or "chain grab" hook to attach to. Can use a "quick link" or "screw link" if necessary.
Maybe a local trailer store has them.
I keep a 30 foot nylon tow strap in my pickup. It's long enough, plus it has a little bit of stretch, so if you yank harshly it absorbs some of the shock. Harbor Freight has one.
p.s. Never connect a tow hook to sheet metal body parts. You'll tear it open, or off the car.
Open the hood and attach the tow rope to the front motor mount
Got to be one,… They tie them down on the transport trucks & trains
- Which fuel injector cleaner will be SAFE(without causing damage) to use on my Honda? I have a 2003 Honda Element and I'm going to buy a fuel additive. However, I deciding three types that I don't know which to choose from. It's either going to be from Lucas, royal purple or Techron.
- Is it safe to put an HID bulb 6000k or 8000k on my current HID that is 4300k? I'm not sure what heat is my stock HID but I'm assuming It's 5000k or 4300k since it is still bright yellow and not on the bluish side. I was wondering do I just buy the d4s bulb? Or do I have to get a kit? What are the avaerage prices and are some of them bad quality ones? I don't know anything about lights I'm certainly not going to change em myself but have someone do it. This is for 2013 honda crz ex model low beam
- Buying my first car and want to choose the right car I need something with a lot of room and thats safe? I've been looking at the honda crv, kia sorento, chevy traverse/equinox, acura mdx/rdx, nissan maxima and buick enclave. - Is there other causes for Code P1129, other than the MAP Sensor? I have a 2005 Honda Civic EX and my car has been idling and turning off on the road often. I'm currently not driving the car because of this issue. The OBDII scanner gives me a code of P1129, so I replaced the MAP sensor; however, even after I thought replacing the MAP sensor would fix it, the problem still exists. I need to use my car to get to work nowadays. Is there any other causes for code P1129? Any help is appreciated.
