Who knows about inverters?

Hi, I want to purchase an inverter for my parents car, a 1999 Honda Accord, but I don't the right one. It's to power phones, laptops, and a printer, and even for the unexpected emergencies. Any experts on this topic?

This link will help you to figure out the total wattages you'll need for choosing the right inverter:

Read these guides, they will have all answers for your need. And price:

Hope it help.

Well, inverters come in different powers, they convert 12v DC power from your car to 110/220v AC (depending on your voltage) you need one that convert to your voltage. Then you need one which will have enough power to run all the things you want, if you are going to be using several items at once, so you add up the wattage, a laptop is usually 20-40w, and phones are like 5w, you will have to check your printer, add them all together and that will give you the power you need. If it is given in amps then you can work out the power by multiplying the voltage by the current (amps) so for example a 1 amp inverter will give you 110w of power if its 110v or 220w if its 220 volts, 2 amps you double it.
Also make sure you don't overload your car socket, it will have a fuse which may be as small as 1 amp, sometimes different ones in the car have different powers, the one in the back of mine says 'max 120w' which means its 10amps (12v X 10amp=120w).
