Why did my wheel stiffen while driving?

So today while turning on the car my wheel was more stiff than usual to the point where I had to use extra strength to pull out my parking spot. But then after driving it for 10 seconds it returned back to normal. I drove it for the rest of the night no problem and no stiffness at all. My car is a 2015 Honda Accord

One of two thing.

Your power steering pump failed…

-OR-

Your rack and pinion failed.

Have either or both check to make sure you do not have issue with either.

Hi it sounds like the power steering needs looking at by a honda dealer.

Something happened to the power steering. Check the fluid level in the P/S pump reservoir and top up if necessary with the correct fluid. If the level is OK, have the vehicle checked out by a dealer or other trusted shop.

Have the power steering fluid flushed and remove the screen in the bottom of the PS reservoir.
If the PS fluid is getting air bubbles in it Honda's have a common problem with an o-ring on the return line fitting leaking air at the pump.

Could be an issue with power steering pump.

No power steering pump on your 2015 Accord; it has electric power steering. The NHTSA has received four reports of that happening in the 2015 but not much further data - see the source. If the car is still under warranty this is a good time to take it to the dealer and at least get the failure on record. Best guess is it is a problem in the power steering rack.

Sounds like your power steering fluid is low, or it could be a belt slipping

Power steering pump is up to no good

There are plenty of complaints for the electric power steering of the Honda Accord found online.

Problems range from difficult steering to seized steering to the car turning left or right on its own while driving.

Your car is fairly new. Don't you have warranty coverage?

Did you use any oli?
