Why is Honda stereotyped as 'slow'?
As slow as a Honda, as I always hear.
Honda has Civic SiR, Integra, Accord V6, turbocharged v-tec, etc. It is an excellent brand and is NOT slow.
Why are people so ignorant these days?
Ever heard of a NS-X? It's coming back as 2015 model with two turbo chargers and about 500 ponies. Now that is… SLOW huh? Even the K-series, most of them have around 200 HP…
Liverhuyen2003, strongly agree, K-series, R series, Honda NSX with 500 hp is outstanding. Call that a slow car.
Mainstream Hondas are made for getting from one place to another. Honda is not a performance brand, like Pontiac was. My daughter had a 1993 Accord LX with a 0-60 time of about 10 seconds - the same as our 2010 Prius. When somebody asks how to make their 1992 Accord fast, the only reasonable answer is it is basically a slow car and "faster" will not be fast.
Even for people who do all sorts of silly mods the chassis is still the chassis of a domestic car. Front wheel drive keeps it forever in the lower realm of performance.
Stock Hondas are slow. They're fuel efficient cars they won't have massive amounts of power but it doesn't mean you can't make power with Honda's. Just need the $$
Somebody has to hate. Plenty of slower brands, but they're not even worth mentioning.
There's always "faster", but the people you're listening to are stuck in a mindset of drag racing. The best driver wins as opposed to the most powerful engine. Then again, there are people who confuse "fast" with "quick", interchange the two and misuse the terms. In other words, they are stupid.
Never heard that one before, wouldn't pay any attention to it either, Hondas are not made for speed, they're made for reliability, durability, and comfort.
- Why does the left front wheel on my 4wheeler lock as soon as i touch the lever but the other 1 don't even hardly slow down? I have a 2007 Honda Recon 250 4wheeler and it's been doing that off and on for awhile now, i thought it might have been a low tire because it's done the exact same thing before with a low tire but my tire pressure is fine. I'm guessing something is wrong with the brake shoes but i'm not sure what to look for because i'm not very experienced in the mechanic department and i don't wanna mess something up worse than it already is Haha very funny Andrew
- What do you guys consider a slow 0 to 60 time? My 15 year old Honda does it in anywhere from the high 7 to low 8 and I finds that to be VERY slow what do you guys find to be a slow time?
- Why is my car so loud and slow? I have a 96 Honda odyssey its a pretty old car but its my first car so I wanna get at least another year or 2 out of it the engine is fine but the car is so loud and when I go 35 down a road it feels like I'm going 20mph, I got the car like that as it was a gift so I could have my own car but I just wanna know is it worth even trying to get the loud noise fixed an maybe make the car go alittle faster? Or should I just go lease a newer car?
- How to slow down the idle on a 88 honda crx si? I recently put a motor in a 88 honda crx SI the person I bought it from took the original motor out to put a bigger one in but never did. I put the original motor back in and hooked everything up. It cranks but it idles at 3000 rpm's. How do I slow down the idle?
