Am I being a spoiled brat?
I'm getting my license and my dad won't buy me my own car, he's making me drive his old car for a few years until he buys me my own. I'm sad because I want a Lexus or Honda but I also don't want to be a brat. It's just embarrassing to drive an old car from the 90s
If you want your own car then start working.
To be blunt- yes you are being a spoilt brat. I'm assuming since you're getting your liscence you're above 16. I worked since the age of 14 and have always paid for the things I want such as phones, expensive shoes etc. I started saving for my car at 18, I'm now 19 and almost about to take my test. I would never expect anyone to pay for my car, and if someone gave me their old car I would be extremely greatful. I think you need to realise not everything in life will be handed to you on a plate. You work for the things you want, and if you can't afford what you want right now, then you save up for it.
You probably are. Also, a reminder that we can barely afford to keep the lights on this show. My first car was 71 Plymouth Duster, but that was '74. No power steering, power brakes or A/C. I paid for it with my grass cutting money and got the car changed to my name when I turned 18.
Too late on being a brat, however you missed the spoiled part. Thank them and earn the right to buy your next car. Deep down they know, you'll probably total the car due to an accident or neglect.
A spoiled, ungrateful, selfish brat, to be exact.
You can't whine when the car is FREE. Finish your school, get a job and buy that Lexus or GTR or whatever you like. Some people your age are scrubbing the flight deck of an aircraft carrier off the coast of San Diego as we speak. Most of them DO NOT HAVE a car.
Very spoiled - it is not his responsibility whatsoever to provide you with a car.
I had to buy my own car and pay all the bills on it.
Be grateful you have a car to drive.
If you want a different car work and pay for it.
Yep. If you want a specific car, go out and work for it.
BTW, I drive a 12 year old car even though I can afford to drive something shinier and newer by choice. I realized a long time ago that cars are depreciating assets and spending money on other things such as a home is a far wiser choice economically speaking.
There's no doubt that you are a spoiled brat. A miserable and ungrateful version too.
- Paying for Honda Loaner Car From Dealership while Paint Recall is Being Fixed? I'm going to be paying $33/day for (1 to 2 weeks) for a loaner car from my honda dealership while its away in the shop. Is there any flexibility in picking what car I want or do they automatically assign me a car. I feel like since i'm paying i should be able to pick what car I want, or even pay a little more for something nicer?
- Does being a security guard have okay pay? I'm planning on getting a cheap motorcycle when i graduate, like a honda cbr 250 off craigslist and I'm wondering if the pay of a security guard would be able to afford its insurance and 250$ of rent per month. (My roommate and i are gonna split it) How much money do you guys think i might have left over? I know this is a extremely broad question but just make assumptions to fill in the blanks because I'm not even there yet.
- Can I buy a motorcycle from a dealer being under 16? If I go to a dealer can I buy a motorcycle if I don't get a loan on it. I live in California. Also what should I expect would they give me a hard time or ask my parents if they're sure about they're decision and make them sign papers. Or will it be simple and I could just walk out the door with my new Honda Grom. I pay for it in full cash could I get it?
- I'm torn on vehicles. Top priority being safety for my 6 month old daughter. I can choose between a? 2008 honda element (car-seat right side of vehicle) or a 2002 ford expedition (car-seat in the middle. I don't car about gas or any other issue. Only the safety for my child
