Boyfriend bought a car but it has scratches and a dent on it?

My boyfriend's car was in pretty bad shape, so he recently decided to look for a new one. Him and I went to a Honda dealership and he found one that was in his price range that he really liked but it was getting dark out because we had went to a couple dealerships previously and by the time we got to the Honda one, the sun had already set basically. He took it for a test drive, really liked the car so long story short, that was the one he bought. Now fast forward to the next day, he brings home the car and I went out to see it and on the passenger's side, there's a big dent by the door. It's a used car btw so it had a previous owner. The car is black and like I said it was dark out when we looked at it (big mistake, will no longer go look at cars in the night) so we didn't notice that when at the dealership.
There's also a lot of scratches all over the car, it's like tree branches scraped against the sides (the scratches are on both the passenger and driver's side)
The sales guy didn't say anything about the car having a dent or about the scratches so this was totally unexpected.
Is it too late for my boyfriend to go back to the dealership and say something? Will they fix it?

LOL. You can ask, but it is his mistake. Car was sold as is.

I traded in a car in the evening that looked pretty good in the dark. They gave me a good deal and I drove the new car away. The next day I got up looked out at the car in the driveway and you could see that someone had walked up to it, stepped on the bumper, put 2 foot prints across the hood, stepped on the mirror on the far side, and kept on going. Some people thought that someone from the dealership saw that my trade in was not so good, so came over to my place in the middle of the night and messed up the new one that I had just bought. I think it was just Karma teaching me a lesson for taking advantage of the darkness with my trade in

Your boy friend's car might have also got messed up in the night. The dealership might fix it, but not for free.
