1997 Honda Civic Ex idle proble?
I recently had my engine replaced. After the replacement the mechanic said it idles high, high isn't even the beginning. When the car is started after about 15 seconds the throttle pretty much starts going on it's on which revs up the rpms. This also occurs when slowing down at a stop sign or light. If I go too slow the car will start to jerk rapidly until I get to about 30mph if I let off the gas there's a thumping sound. If I lightly lean on the gas the jerking starts again. What could this be? The mechanic said there's a park missing that needs to be installed but I can't reach him any longer.

Throttle cable is adjusted too tight or the PCV valve is broken or leaking.

I'm wondering what different things it could be and could it possibly help to use on of those additives that supposedly clean the fuel system.

It will also at times sputter when slowing down on a curve or over a speed bump. Recently a few times I have had to punch the gas when starting so it will catch. I recently had a new fuel pump installed but it is now doing the same thing it was doing before the new installation. Any ideas?
