1999 Honda Civic blue exhaust smoke and burning oil?
1999 Honda Civic D15 72k mileage engine is loosing oil after a lengthy drive and also noticed smoke from exhaust, think it is blue. Have a full aftermarket exhaust system with decat on too, could decat be the reason for smoke?
No, the exhaust system you have installed has nothing whatsoever to do with it burning oil. Blue smoke is indeed a symptom of oil burning. Why is is burning oil? Because the engine has been neglected or mistreated and the rings are worn. More than likely it had been run to death. You can destroy any engine if you mistreat it or neglect regular oil/filter changes. The only fix is a complete engine overhaul. Unless it is using lots of oil and smoking badly just keep driving and adding oil as necessary.
- Spark plugs covered with oil plus exhaust smoke? Just got the carbs cleaned and working perfectly on my 82 Honda Nighthawk 450. I started the bike and just a moment later there's a white smoke coming from the engine and exhaust. I took the spark plugs off to aid in addressing the issue and I have found that there's a black oil on them. Anybody have an idea as to what's going on here?
- Mechanic said he rebuilt the engine, smoke coming out of engine, could it be the grease burning off? The mechanic said he rebuilt the engine to my 1974 Honda CB550 I bought from him. Said he rebuilt the engine and is in perfect running condition. He has many bikes lying around and seems as if he is a hobbyist for bikes. He told me that he basically greased up a lot of parts of the motor and it is burning the grease off. The next oil change I do should remove the excess grease.
- Will a 2000 Honda civic front bumper fit a 1999 civic I'm talking about a 1999 civic dx? I have a 99 I'm in need of a new front bumber and I'm looking on Craigslist and a found a 2000 civic front bumper that's dope and it's cheap so I'm asking if it would fit perfect or what adjustments would I have to make is it worth it pretty much thanks
- Will a oil pressure sensor cause a 1999 honda civic not to crank if oil is low? While I was driving I noticed it wouldn't go any faster while I was going about 60mph but I felt the transmission spinning and the revs were high I then pulled over and put the car in Park and noticed the engine wasn't on Or Is it seized?
