2006 honda civic gas pedal fluttering noise on starting after running over debris on highway?

I bought 2006 honda civic EX brand new and have only 65000 miles on it. Have it maintained very well. Use the car for commute back/from work only.

ISSUE:- Today morning, when I was doing 70 miles speed on the highway, I ran over an abandoned shredded tire outer layer (almost like a giant snake skin) in the middle lane, and after I settled down to the local roads, I'm noticing a fluttering metallic sound, whenever I press the gas pedal for the first time (after breaking or the 1st time I'm starting the car). The noise is not there, when the car is in motion.

Please advise from your experience. I'm looking for a good mechanic in my area in the time being.

Added (1). Thank you user "country boy". I could not edit my original post. Sorry about the typo, typed in haste. I hear this metallic gurgling sound whenever I press the gas pedal for the first time to get the car in motion, OR when I stop at a traffic light, and accelerate slowly.

Country Boy: I'm in Dallas TX area. I'm thankful for your immediate response. How expensive will this repair might be. I'm still calling around local mechanics of mom pop shops.

More than likely when you hit the tire on the road it tore loose the heat shield on the bottom of the catalytic converter.

Automotive "breaks" (as you spelled them) which stops the car is spelled brakes.
