97 Honda Civic, new clutch and pressure plate but won't come out of gear and clutch pedal won't release?
The clutch feels backwards now, won't switch gears unless the car is off and the pedal is all the way up. When you start it in gear it will not come out of said gear unless you turn the car off. Check if the clutch fork is moving when the clutch pedal is depressed. Yes, bad clutch installation. No, bad clutch master or slave cylinder/needs adjustment.
Who put the clutch disc in backwards?
The shift fork may also be off the pivot point ball inside the bell housing.
You need to bleed the system, get the air out of it
