Bought a Honda Civic with a turbo already installed. What are the 3 switches on the dash for?

The guy i bought it from didn't know what they were for either. They are mounted just above the boost gauge which doesn't read anything. Neither do the 3 gauges next to the door jam. Do the switches maybe turn on and off the turbo somehow? Cause driving the car, it doesn't feel boosted. Feels like driving a normal car.

Trace the wiring of the switches. Probably dummy switches just there for looks. No, they do not turn the turbo on and off. A turbo operates off the exhaust gases so as long as your engine is running, the turbo is spinning. Have you checked under the hood to see that turbo is installed? Do you know what turbo looks like?

I'm thinking you've been scammed.

No lol i know what it looks like. Thing has everything; new manifold, headers, intercooler, ECU, the works. But even revving high i don't get the signature wastegate whistle. I haven't gone super-high with the rpms yet (about 4k).

Was going easy on it cus the car wouldn't run when i got it. Car wouldn't start for the guy and he said he'd tried pumping the pedal and everything. I swapped the plugs out and it purred like a kitty. He'd just flooded them.

You mean to tell us that you haven't tried them out? Take it to a Honda dealership and ask them.

How are you certain that it actually has a turbo installed? Did it occur to you that turbos on engines not engineered for them can wreck havoc? Perhaps if you had a qualified mechanic give it a look over, you can find out those switches are bogus, and that turbo is non-existent along with the gauges. You don't turn a turbo on with a switch, boost is built up via exhaust gases which spins the turbo. Obviously you have been had. Typical teen who wanted a ricer, and he got one, only it is a POS. JDM YO!

Trace the wires. Nobody can tell you what 3 random switches on a random customized car do.
