Calling all expereinced car Enthusiasts for

I'm an employed 16 year old driver with a '93 1500 Crew Cab off road z71 Chevy(now that you have read that I would just like to inform you that I'm not an ignorant teen, I'm responisible with driving and have never come close to an accident in my truck, I always make good decisions and educate my self thoroughly before making those decisions.) I'm willing to sell this truck for a car that is a joy to drive and can keep me busy and happy for awhile( don't plan on getting rid of it until I get out of college and probably longer down the road.) To help narrow down your recommendations I have a few specifications. I want it to, preferably, be a coupe, manual transmission, good looking, can be tuned to a degree where I can make it feel like MY car( know what I mean?), I can take it to a race track every once in awhile for fun, is under 10,000 and this is not a must but if it has traction control that would be amazing! Although with my limited knowledge of cars, which hopefully will expand as I get more into cars, I have no idea where to start! Thats where I need your help, Do you guys have any suggestions for me or recommendations for me? I browsed Craigslist earlier and found two cars that interest me, one was a 2006 maybe 2007 Honda civic Si and the other was a 2001 BMW 330ci. How ever I have heard that people loathe civics, could someone explain this to me? Thank you in advance for helping me! Hopefully this will spring a life long interest in cars!

Added (1). Don't know how the question was unclear but I will clarify. IF YOU WANT TO RACE IT WHY BUY SOMETHING LIKE BMW THAT HAS EXPENSIVE PARTS AND ISN'T EXACTLY EASY TO WORK ON. JUST BECAUSE IT'S A POPULAR RIDE DOESN'T MAKE IT A GOOD ONE. TO MANY PEOPLE TODAY BUY A STATUS SYMBOL. IF YOU WANT TO DRAG RACE THEN CHEVY FORD OR DODGE IS YOUR BEST BET.

You are driving a better vehicle than anything you named. Keep you truck, Mr. Safety, and drive it until you are out of college or it breaks down, and THEN, once you have a steady job, look into any type of car you would like.

So, what exactly are you asking? GET TO THE POINT!

I'd personally sell the truck. Mainly because of operating costs reasons, not for "joy riding". But i would get rid of it immediately. Your other choice is to hold on to the truck til after college, but pass on getting a car at the moment until you graduate and have the money.
I've never heard of negative comments about the Civic. The only people that loathe Civics are haters who think their opinions are facts, or people that don't know anything about cars, both of which most likely hasn't owned a Civic nor do they do research. If you read consumer reports about it, it is a desirable car with above average reliability.

Oh, so that's the question.
As much as i love Euro cars, don't bother getting a BMW. You are going to spend 2-3x more on maintenance than a Honda. The Si is a good start. Also the Scion tC and Mazda MX5
