Can a bad map sensor cause my car to not run?
I have a 1990 honda civic with a b18a1 swap. My car idles fine when it wants to start but whenever I press the gas it sputters and putts it doesn't put out enough power to move the car. I have recently changed the fiac and fitv so that's hopefully not the problem.
I smogged my car and I failed in the CO ratings so I'm running really rich with the occasional backfire. I'm just wondering if I have a bad map sensor.
Replace the maf sensor.
Hi the situation is that the modern car since the mid 1980's needs a manufacturers diagnostic tester to find faults and repair issues with them. You can't simple change this and that. It has become far more technical than most realise the engine management unit is married to the engine. Like the body module is married to the rest of the car these two computers also talk to each other so no modify is possible either.
MAP sensor usually will cause it to hard start or run really rich. Make sure exhuast not restricted also

- Will a oil pressure sensor cause a 1999 honda civic not to crank if oil is low? While I was driving I noticed it wouldn't go any faster while I was going about 60mph but I felt the transmission spinning and the revs were high I then pulled over and put the car in Park and noticed the engine wasn't on Or Is it seized?
- Is there other causes for Code P1129, other than the MAP Sensor? I have a 2005 Honda Civic EX and my car has been idling and turning off on the road often. I'm currently not driving the car because of this issue. The OBDII scanner gives me a code of P1129, so I replaced the MAP sensor; however, even after I thought replacing the MAP sensor would fix it, the problem still exists. I need to use my car to get to work nowadays. Is there any other causes for code P1129? Any help is appreciated.
