Can't get my car window off the regulator?

I have a pretty basic car issue. I have a 2001 honda civic 4 door. The front passenger window broke a while ago and it is stuck in the up position (completely closed). We recently got a window regulator to fix the issue. When we attempted to take out the old regulator, there was no easy way for us to get the actual window off the regulator. The 10 mm bolts holding the window to the regulator is right behind the top of the door frame, right about where someone would rest their arm. I was unable to reach the bolts with an extension or pliers.

Is there away to get the window off the regulator without taking off the metal door part? I was trying to force thw window down so the bolts could be reached through the holes already provided, but was unsucessful with that too.

Would like to be able to fix the window without being ripped off by a mechanic so let me know if you guys have dealt with this issue before.

Unbolt the regulator first and allow it to come down inside the door. Once its down you will have access to the 10 mm bolts that are holding the glass. Is the glass broken or the regulator?

Gotta be a contortionist and have "smart hands", regulators can be a MAJOR pain. Can you get the glass out of the window track to help gain access? Many times, window, track and regulator assy. Are installed in one piece, and need to be removed as such, then individual components replaced, then re-installed in one piece.

Have someone hold the glass. Use a side cutters and cut the cables. That'll let you lower the sill and remove the bolts holding the glass. From that point on it's a piece of cake.
