Cv joint noise on 99 Honda civic?
So I noticed a faint noise at low speeds. My car has over 220k miles. I have replaced the struts in the past year or so. When I jacked the car up and turned the steering wheel back and forth I could hear a noise from what I think is the cv joint. When I pull on the bar extending from that joint it is slightly loose and I think this is the noise I'm hearing. The play is coming from the wheel joint and not where it meets the transmission. I can hear it on both the driver and passenger joints. Is this normal? If I have reached the end of its life do you just replace the outer axle?
Defected outer CV joints with make "Clicking" noise on full turns or while making a turn. Defected inner CV joints mostly will cause vibration or "Rumble" noise while driving.
Other than that, the noise could be from worn out suspension parts or the Rack and Pinion. Have it check out. HTH
- We have a 2006 Honda CBR. When you drive it, there's a loud whirring noise coming the back underneath side. What could cause that noise? The noise is situated around a CV boot on the left underneath side where the differential connects to the middle.

- Helicopter noise on a 04 honda civic? I just recently changed my breaks on my 04 honda civic and I did everything correctly. And for some reason when I start driving I hear a helicopter noise and sometimes I don't. Did I do something wrong? Or is there Soemthing else? I also live in Texas and it's really hot if that helps at all.
