Is the Honda Civic a good car to live in?

I plan on travelling across America in my Honda Civic. I plan on sleeping in it and basically living out of it for a year. Do you think this is possible in such a compact car? I want to keep it cause it gets great gas mileage.

No, because it will be to small inside to transport all the needed things and have a restfull sleep.

The answer is going to depend on your physical size. If you are a small person, this may be possible, but if you are larger sleeping in the car will be very uncomfortable.

Other things to take into account are personal safety, personal hygiene, and locations that will allow you to sleep in your vehicle. In many areas the police are going to have a problem with someone sleeping in a vehicle in a public place. In many states, they even have time limits for people staying in roadside rest areas.

Other issues are going to include storage space for personal items, food, beverages and other supplies.

You may want to consider a gym membership, such as Planet Fitness. Even if you do not work out, this would provide you with access to showers.

If you want to travel and live in a vehicle, I would recommend you look at a van, where you can actually have some space to lay down, (using an air mattress) and also will not be totally jammed into a small interior

Yes, but sleep in the back or passenger seat. Don't get used to sleeping in the driver's seat. That could cause you to fall asleep while driving.

Wouldn't be my first choice. Just too cramped.

Better off with a mini-van with the back seats removed and storage + a 1/2 decent bed fitted.

I would get a swag and roll it out beside the car at night. I lived 6 months homeless and sleeping inside a compact car SUCKS (I had a Lancer), ( a swag is a Canvas roll with a mattress built into it, and you put a sleeping bag and pillow in it, I don't know if it is a common thing outside Australia)

No but if you have to make the best of it you should get a car mattress.

If your Civic has inside of it a shower and a toilet, then maybe.

Otherwise, Hell no. Dumb idea.
