The light is on because the ECU has detected a problem with the Supplemental Restraint System (air bags). Once you have the problem repaired by a professional they will reset the light. Due to the hazards of working on this system this is NOT a DIY repair. Seek professional help.
You need to fix the problem that is causing the error for it to come on. Simple as that.
