How would I go about getting my 2000 Honda Civic EX car key copied?

I looked around online and saw some things about how dealerships only copy keys if they are 10 years old or less. Could I go to an Aubuchon's or something?

Find an automotive locksmith. They will provide a blank, copy and chip it no problems.

Dealers have a factory key cutter that uses the VIN to cross reference a code that the machine uses to make a new key. It does not copy the old key.

You need to ask at the service department at the dealer. The price may be very high if the key needs to be programmed. Try calling a few locksmiths and see what their deal is.
