Hyundai sonata or honda civic?

I don't want a answer based on the appeareance. I want the answer about the quality of the car.especially engine.
Hyundai sonata YF vs Honda Civic 2012

Hyundai Sonata

Honda quality has been slipping for years (not an opinion. Check the stats and not the reputation… Same for Toyota) while Hyundai's has been rising. That being said, all car makes have issues. Anyone who tells you different is lying. The new Civics have received sub par reviews… Especially for a Honda. The Sonata has great reviews, and the new Elantras won 2012 North American car of the year.

Again… No car is going to be completely problem free… That is what warranties are for. Honda has a 3/36 (3 year 36k) and Hyundai has a 5/60 (5yr 60k). The 10year 100k warranty Hyundai offers is a powertrain warranty for the original owner of the vehicle. The Hyundai powertrain warranty covers many things not usually considered powertain (in my opinion)… But it is important to remember it is NOT a bumper to bumper warranty. Not sure of Honda's powertrain warranty so I can't comment there.

Both cars would be solid choices. Personal preference will come into play here. I would personally take the Sonata!

Hyundai is been in the market for at least for 59 years. This is a company that was into constructions, suplying workforce to Saudi Arabia & the middle east. Then they started with cars… They make cheap cars but not cars worth like a Japanese one. You can't compete Hyundai with Honda. You can't compare a Korean car, say their best ones with any Honda car. We're talking about phony cars that only got mercedes, jaguars or GTI looks & don't give the satisfaction, the pride & joy as a Japanese car does.I'll take the modern & sporty 2012 civic anytime against any of their luxuty cars. I see only unprofessionals, rookies & first time buyers going for Kias or Hyundais these days but not a real driver. We're talking about race proven engine & transmission.A Japanese car that has one of the best fuel injection system, track tested by well known & world track record holder race drivers.A civic that was put on a diet & a sprinter in it's class.A car that can handle a good curve & that can easily be upgraded with a better turbo or with so many compatible high performance parts from your neighboring stores.A civic that already come with comfy bucket type seat…

Civic… Is this a serious question?

Hyundai's are reliable, Civic's are just as reliable. You can make a Civic look Way nicer than a Sonata. Civic's also have better optional features.

How old are you? This is a factor… Sonata's, to me, are a young family car. I got my new Civic at 19 (2010 model). Before that I has a 2001 Acura… Which was essentially a Civic in a different shell. The car was perfect until the transmission went (flukey).

Honda Civic 2012

Honda all the way, but the Hyundai line is leaning more to luxury for a decent buck. It seems that Kia, owned by Hyundai, is building the less expensive vehicles that Hyundai once did.

Honda is most reliable, but a Hyundai Sonata is reliable, nicely designed and reasonably priced as well. Plus, you can buy one in three types of variants.

Every year consumer reports gave the civic excellent reviews-the 2012 civic did not.
the elantra which is comparable to the civic was recommended. Owned a 05 civic ex-se and a 05 elantra GT-bought new. We traded the civic at 36,000 miles (warranty ended) It was a p.o.s.-lots of problems. We traded the elantra with over 100,000 problem free miles for a '11 sonata. Great car. The warranty on the hyundai is 5yrs/60K and the honda is 3yrs/36K

I own a Hyundai, their good cars but I'd prefer Honda.

Hyundai sonata YF number one

I prefer Honda civic you also can compare http://www.autoinfoz.com/compare-cars/index.html

  • Which car is better 2016 Honda Civic coupe or 2016 Hyundai Genesis coupe? I'm looking for a new car and these two are the only cars that fit my budge as a sporty car. The Honda Civic has a v cylinder engin and Genesis has v6. Civic offers Apple car play whereas Genesis does not… They both have many pors and cons to them and I can't decide which one is better and worthwhile… Please I need opinions!
  • Should i get a 2005 hyundai tiburon gt or a 2001 honda civic ex? I'm debating whether getting the 2005 tiburon which looks better with red, but has 133k miles on it. Or the 2001 civic with 90k miles on it. Both are coupes, have leather seats and moon roof. Both are around 6k cost. both are in great condition and which is better for resale
  • Is 2004 Hyundai Sonata V6 too much for first time teenage driver? I recently bought 2004 Hyundai Sonata for $3000 (with my money that I earned by working at little caesars) It is my first car and is my first year driving (yes, I did all driver's training and such). All my friends have small cars like Toyota Corolla, VW Jetta, and Honda Civics. I'm aware that my car eats much more cars than my friends cars. Is my car way too much for me to handle? Should I sell my car and get a different one?
